The Cravats - довольно необычная панк группа из Реддитча, небольшого городка вблизи Бирмингема. Собрали группу Chris Harz, он же просто Shend и Robin Raymond Dallaway весной 1977 года, после совместного посещения концерта The Stranglers и последующего распития горячительных напитков. Shend взял на себя обязанности вокалиста и бас гитариста, а Dallaway взял в руки гитару. Обзаведясь саксофонистом и барабанщиком парни не теряя даром времени принялись за дело. Группа стабильно проиграла примерно до 1983-го года, выпустив целую кучу синглов, два альбома и став довольно частым гостем программы Джона Пила. Shend и Dallaway начали заниматься сторонними проектами и создали новый коллектив The Very Things, однако в 1985 вновь выпустили релиз под вывеской The Cravats, правда добавив к привычному названию аббревиатуру DCL, созданного ими-же DadaCravat Laboratories - союз нескольких проектов объединенных идеями дадаизма. В следующий раз группа всплывет на поверхность лишь в 2009-ом, правда из старожил команды останется лишь сам Shend и саксофонист Svor Naan, он-же Richard London. В 2011 состоялось переиздание дебютного лонгплея группы - "The Cravats In Toytown - Double Volume". На двойном компакт диске были представлены - оригинальная версия альбома, его переделанная версия, которой занялся друг музыкантов - участник Crass - Penny Rimbaud и треки с синглов выпущенных на Small Wonder Records в период 1978-1981 года. В 2006 The Cravats выпустили сингл "Seance", а последняя работа команды - семерка "Jingo Bells" увидела свет в марте 2016, так что в истории данного коллектива еще рано ставить точку и вполне справедливо ждать от музыкантов чего-нибудь новенького.

Hi. Is there any chance you could find stuff by a band called ''THE SEIZE''. Apparently they did 3 x 7''s. I know the first was called ''WHY'' & the second ''EVERYBODY DIES''. No idea about the third. From what i know one of the members was later in OIZONE. Your help would be truly appreciated. Thanx. Rich Bones.
